DFA Welcomes Home Over 2,000 Filipinos From Various Countries
PASAY CITY 16 June 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) warmly welcomed a total of 2,281 Overseas Filipinos from various countries – Lebanon, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Barbados, Germany, Netherlands – who arrived on separate flights at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminals 1 and 2 yesterday, 15 June 2020.
The Overseas Filipino repatriates were subjected to testing for COVID-19 upon their arrival, except for the seafarers from Barbados whose manning agency arranged their COVID-19 testing to be done at the quarantine facility by a private provider. All arriving passengers were briefed on quarantine protocols before they were transported to designated facilities where they will undergo mandatory quarantine in accordance with the guidelines established by the Inter-Agency Task Force.
