PH Embassy in Amman Celebrates 122nd Anniversary of the PH Independence
AMMAN 19 June 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in Amman celebrated the 122nd Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence on 13 June 2020 at the Bayanihan Hall of the Chancery.
The highlight of the event was the flag ceremony led by Philippine Ambassador to Jordan Akmad A. Sakkam with Madame Ruby Sakkam together with the Embassy and POLO-OWWA officers and staff, the reading of the message of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, and cake-cutting. Ambassador Sakkam also delivered the Independence Day message for the Filipino community leaders in Jordan and it was broadcast simultaneously via Facebook live.
The celebration was capped off by the Awarding of Distinguished Service Commendation to leaders of the Filipino community and frontliner volunteers for assisting the Embassy’s food relief distribution to distressed Filipino Workers. END
