29 April 2014 - Corporate executives from Chery Cars Philippines, Inc., led by its President and Chief Operating Officer Ms. Marinel Santiago, paid a courtesy call Philippine Ambassador to China Erlinda F. Basilio on April 21.
During the meeting, the group briefed Ambassador Basilio on the status of the company’s investments and operations in the Philippines, and on its plans for collaboration with China-based Chery Automobile Co. to manufacture vehicles in the Philippines within the next two years. The group also informed the Ambassador that its parent company in China identified the Philippines as its 3rd hub in Asia after Malaysia and Indonesia.
Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., a Chinese automobile company established in 1997, recently partnered with the Philippine group to create the local unit Chery Cars Philippines, Inc., to be the sole distributor of its vehicles in the Philippines. END
