CANBERRA 07 July 2020 – Philippine Ambassador to Australia Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega administered the oath of office of Mr. Richard Van Neutegem as Philippine Honorary Consul to Tasmania via video link on 01 July 2020. This ceremony marks the official re-opening of the Philippine Consulate in Hobart to serve more than 2,000 Filipinos in Tasmania.

The Honorary Consul is responsible for promoting and protecting the interests of the Philippines in Tasmania. It is also his duty to protect the rights and promote the welfare of Filipino citizens under his consular jurisdiction.
