PH Embassy in Lisbon Resumes LinggosaEmbaixada for Consular Applicants

LISBON 09 July 2020 – After three-months of hiatus in operations, the Philippine Embassy in Lisbon resumed its regular first Sunday of the month LinggosaEmbaixada activity on 05 July 2020. The resumption of this once a month Sunday consular day is part of the efforts of the Embassy to continuously improve and provide quality consular services to the Filipino community in Portugal, despite the ongoing global pandemic. 

The Embassy, in compliance with health measures and protocols of the Portuguese government, reformatted its Sunday frontline consular service with the implementation of a consular appointment system where applicants with confirmed appointments are only allowed to transact inside the Embassy’s consular section at a specific time schedule or slot. Consular applicants were also requested to wear facial masks and to observe proper social distancing as part of the Embassy’s precautionary measures against COVID-19.

The Embassy welcomed 21 consular applicants for the 05 July LinggosaEmbaixada activity. The applicants who came as far as Viana de Castelo, Porto, and Aveiro availed of various consular services ranging from ePassport renewals to Overseas Voter Registrations (OVR). All applicants expressed their appreciation to the Embassy for the resumption of the much awaited LinggosaEmbaixada since most of the members of the Filipino community work on weekdays.

The next LinggosaEmbaixada is scheduled on 02 August 2020. The Embassy’s regular consular services is open from Mondays to, from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
