New PH Honorary Consul in Nicosia, Cyprus Takes Oath of Office

ATHENS 10 July 2020 — New Philippine Honorary Consul in Cyprus Kriton Tornaritis took his oath of office before Philippine Embassy in Athens Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Rosario P. Lemque, at Semeli Hotel in Nicosia, Cyprus on 03 July 2020. Mr. Tornaritis was appointed as Philippine Honorary Consul by Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr.

The oath-taking was attended by his wife, Rebecca Tornaritis, his staff, and members of the Embassy Consular Outreach team who were to conduct an outreach mission on 04-07 July 2020. A briefing on the requirements to be submitted by his office, as well as the consular and assistance-to-nationals services needed by Overseas Filipinos in Cyprus was likewise conducted on the same day.

Mr. Tornaritis is a Managing Partner of the Tornaritis Law Firm based in Nicosia, Cyprus. His clients are concerned primarily with banks, e-money institutions, financial services and information technology, including payment products and systems. He studied at the Law School of the University of Athens (LLB) and has been admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association in 1989.

The Philippine Consulate in Nicosia is set to open within a few days.  The address and contact information of the Consulate will be announced by the Embassy as soon as it is available. END
