TEHRAN 13 July 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in Tehran has put in place several precautionary measures to safeguard the health of its personnel and clients in preparation for the resumption of partial onsite operations on 13 July 2020.
To ensure that the Embassy will resume onsite operations in the best and safest condition, necessary physical, and operational adjustments have been put in place, namely: Consular services are extended on an appointment basis only; contactless temperature screening of all clients and guests; touchless hand sanitation station; strict wearing of face mask; designating a waiting area for clients; setting up of a television unit showing a video of safety measures and protocols, on loop; distance markers on floor stickers; door hangers to constantly remind personnel and clients of the health and safety protocols; Public address/microphone system at the consular window to prevent the transmission of water droplets (which are expelled when talking); installation of added plexiglass sheets to serve as physical barrier; and regular sanitation of high contact areas and high-touch surfaces such as door knobs, tables, and receiving counters.
The above standard, contact, and airborne measures are implemented to give the Embassy’s clients and personnel peace of mind, as the coronavirus public health crisis has yet to show signs of stabilizing.
As of 12 July 2020, Iran has reported a total of 257,303 confirmed cases, 12,829 deaths, 219,993 recoveries, and 24,481 active cases related to COVID-19. END
