April 30 2014 - Philippine Ambassador María Consuelo Puyat-Reyes paid a courtesy call on Chilean Defense Minister Jorge Burgos in Santiago last April 25.

Mr. Burgos gave the Ambassador a warm reception and she was happy to find in him a friend of long ago.

During the visit the Minister expressed his commitment to enter into an agreement between Chile and the Philippines to combat natural disasters. The Minister has invited two Filipino members to come and be trained on how to best find solutions to save more lives when natural disasters like earthquakes, fires, tsunamis, among others, take place.
