02 May 2014 - The Associazione Italiana Malati di Cancro (“Italian Association of Cancer Patients”) AIMAC held a Women Cancer Care Forum on Cancer Prevention at the Social Hall  of the Philippine Embassy in Rome on April 16.

Doctors from prominent hospitals in Rome gave the Filipino audience comprehensive information on breast and cervical cancer prevention.

The resource persons were Italian doctors Dr. Antonella Savarese and Dr. Emanuela Mancini, both of the Regina Elena Hospital, and Dr. Tiziana Ragni Raimondi of the Fatebenefratelli Hospital.

According to the resource persons, breast and cervical cancers may not always cause symptoms, but there exist screening tests that provide for early detection and preventive measures.

In her remarks, Philippine Consul General in Rome Leila Lora-Santos called on the public to take note of valuable information on how we can prevent cancer, stay healthy, and ultimately enjoy the fruits of our labor longer. END
