Israeli Government Donates PPE to Frontline Workers of the DND, PNP

MANILA 11 June 2020 —  The Government of the State of Israel, through the Israeli Embassy in Manila, donated personal protection equipment (PPE) for the frontline workers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), in two separate turnover ceremonies attended by officials from the DND, PNP, and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The first batch of PPE was turned over to the DND on 02 June 2020 at the Villamor Airbase while the second batch was turned over to the PNP on 10 June 2020 at the PNP National Headquarters in Camp Crame.

On behalf of the Philippine Government, both DND Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and PNP Chief PGen. Archie Gamboa expressed their appreciation for the donation of the PPE.

For his part, Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines Rafael Harpaz thanked the DND and PNP frontline workers for their services to the public, and promised to look into other ways that Israel can assist the Philippines in its efforts to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The PPE donation included N95 filtered face masks, surgical masks, gloves, shields, gowns and non-contact thermometers. END
