BERLIN 14 August 2020 – Another batch of around 30 Filipino seafarers arrived this month in Hamburg, Germany to take on new assignments with Marlow Navigation Co. Ltd. with head office in Limassol, Cyprus and Marlow Ship Management branch office in Hamburg, Germany.

The seafarers arrived to work for Marlow Navigation, a global company which in the last four decades has expanded its network to 10 countries with around 1,000 shore-based personnel complementing the work of 13,000 crew onboard vessels operating throughout the world.

Philippine Ambassador to Germany Theresa Dizon-De Vega welcomed the arrival of Filipino seafarers noting that “this is yet another testament to the solid reputation our seafarers enjoy in the international maritime industry. We wish them a productive and safe stint as we all contribute to economic recovery efforts.”

The Philippine Embassy in Berlin and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Germany continue to monitor the hiring of Filipino crewmembers in the global maritime sector, one of the hardest hit by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. END
