PH Embassy in Yangon Facilitates Return of 19 Filipinos to Manila

YANGON 28 August 2020 – A total of 19 Filipinos stranded in Myanmar returned home to the Philippines through a special relief flight from Yangon to Manila organized by the Philippine Embassy in Yangon, in coordination with Myanmar Airways International (MAI). The relief flight departed Yangon International Airport for Manila at 10:40 PM on 24 August 2020 and arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on 25 August 2020 at 4:10 AM (Manila Time).

Passengers who joined the flight included teachers and other professionals whose contracts have ended since the outbreak of COVID-19. 

This is the sixth relief flight facilitated by the Embassy to help Filipino nationals return to the Philippines. The Embassy will continue to extend repatriation assistance to distressed and vulnerable Overseas Filipinos in Myanmar. END
