PH Embassy in Yangon Helps 8 Filipinos Fly Home

YANGON 03 September 2020 – A total of eight Filipinos stranded in Myanmar returned home to the Philippines through a special relief flight from Yangon to Manila organized by the Philippine Embassy in Yangon, in coordination with Myanmar National Airlines (MNA). The relief flight departed from Yangon International Airport for Manila at 12:00 PM (Myanmar Time) on 30 August 2020 and arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on the same day at around 5:00 PM (Philippine Time).
The flight included a Filipino national formerly employed in a garments manufacturing company in Myanmar. He was confined at North Okkalapa Hospital starting 19 August 2020 and was diagnosed with Chronic Renal Disease. He underwent emergency dialysis. After more than 11 days in the hospital, he was given clearance by his doctors at North Okkalapa Hospital to board the relief flight. The flight also included Filipinos who lost their jobs.
This is the seventh relief flight facilitated by the Philippine Embassy in Yangon to help Filipino nationals return to the Philippines. END
