GUANGZHOU 15 August 2020 – In celebration of this year’s Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa under the theme “Wika ng Kasaysayan, Kasaysayan ng Wika: Ang Mga Katutubong Wika sa Maka-Filipinong Bayanihan Kontra Pandemya”, the Philippine Consulate General in Guangzhou organized an art meme contest on relevant preventive measures against COVID-19 on 14 August 2020. The event strengthens continuing efforts in raising awareness on the impact of an individual’s role in helping combat the pandemic through the observance of public health protocols.
In line with the theme, the Consulate’s officers and staff, together with their spouses crafted 26 art memes. Consul General Marshall Louis M. Alferez selected the top five memes during the celebration.
The top five art memes were displayed at the Consulate General’s public area to increase awareness among Filipino clients of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the need for observing preventive and control measures. END
