PH Embassy in Stockholm Moves to a New Location on the Baltic Sea

 Stockholm 1

STOCKHOLM 14 September 2020 — The Philippine Embassy in Stockholm moved to a new location along the Baltic in the suburb of Lidingö on 11 September 2020.

The move marks the return of the Philippine Embassy to a permanent location after a physical absence of eight years.

In the newly-minted Teodoro L. Locsin Conference Hall, Philippine Embassy Charge d’ Affaires to Sweden Raul H. Dado thanked the small landing team and recalled the core objectives of strengthening political and economic ties with Sweden and assistance to nationals.

Past Embassy operations had been with the Philippine Embassy in Oslo under Philippine Ambassador to Norway Jocelyn Batoon Garcia, who has been hugely instrumental in the return of the Philippine presence in the Nordics.

The four-storey Embassy, located 15 minutes by public transport from Stockholm Center, features a spacious consular area that assures the comfort of the Embassy’s clients, three large function and conference rooms, and a wide grass lawn for Filipino community gatherings.

The Embassy’s first informal visitor was Swedish Ambassador to Manila Harald Fries, who was on vacation in Stockholm.

The landing mission was supervised from the Home Office by Undersecretaries J. Eduardo Malaya and Brigido J. Dulay, Undersecretaries for Administration and Special Concerns, respectively. END
