PH Embassy in Bangkok Assists 240 Filipino Repatriates from Thailand

 Bangkok 1

BANGKOK 23 September 2020 — A Philippine Embassy team composed of Consul Bea Herrera-Davila, Assistance-To-Nationals Officer Karlo Berme and Technical Sergeant Joel Cardona of the Office of Defense and Armed Forces Attaché assisted 240 kababayan at Suvarnabhumi Airport as they checked in for their flight to Manila on 23 September 2020. The Filipinos assisted included four distressed families with children from the south of Thailand.

Today's special flight, which was granted permits and clearances by the Department of Foreign Affairs and also brought back Filipinos to their workplaces in Thailand with the assistance of the Royal Thai Embassy in Manila, would not have been possible without the support of Philippine Airlines, Ms. Zenaida Vannaying and Raquel Dator of Bangkok Vista, and other civic-minded members of the Filipino community.

This latest batch of returnees, the biggest group so far since repatriation activities commenced in April 2020, brings the total number of repatriates from Thailand assisted by the Philippine Government to 1,897. END
