PH Ambassador to Oman Receives the Board of Directors of the Filipino Community Social Club

MUSCAT 24 September 2020 — Philippine Ambassador to Oman Imelda M. Panolong received the Board of Directors of the Filipino Community Social Club (FILCOSOC) at the Sentro Rizal Hall of the Philippine Embassy in Muscat on 17 September 2020.

The courtesy call of the FILCOSOC Board of Directors was conducted in two groups in observance of social distancing measures.

Ambassador Panolong invited the Board of Directors to share their experiences and insights in voluntary community service through FILCOSOC. She expressed her appreciation for the cooperation and assistance provided by FILCOSOC to the Filipino community in Oman, including in the areas of information dissemination of Embassy announcements, free training programs, distributing material assistance during the lockdowns, and coordination of the special repatriation flights.  She also expressed her hope that the good relations between the Embassy and FILCOSOC that have built up over the years will continue to endure and strengthen.

The FILCOSOC is the only umbrella organization for the social and cultural activities of Filipino expatriates in the Sultanate that is recognized by the host government. Its sub-committees represent the affiliate Filipino associations that are active in the different regions of Oman. END
