VIENNA 21 September 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in Vienna, led by Philippine Ambassador to Austria Maria Cleofe R. Natividad, hosted the first-ever E-Kamustah@n with the members of the Filipino community in Austria, Croatia, Slovakia, and Slovenia on 19 September 2020. The discussion was organized in close collaboration with the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) Milan, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Pag-IBIG, and the Social Security System (SSS).

The well-received session was an opportunity for the attached agencies to brief the Filipino community about the programs and services they offered, as well as provide the latter with an opportunity to discuss directly with the Embassy their concerns, particularly those relating to labor, employment, and benefits.

In her welcome remarks, Ambassador Natividad strongly encouraged the members of the Filipino community to avail of the services offered by POLO-Milan, OWWA, Pag-IBIG Fund, and SSS, such as DOLE-AKAP financial assistance, reintegration programs, and loans with favorable interest rates and payment terms. She also took the opportunity to reassure the community of the Embassy’s readiness to provide assistance whenever it is requested – “Laging handa po kaming tumulong sa inyo”, said Ambassador Natividad.

The Philippine Embassy in Vienna serves approximately 6,000 Filipinos in Austria, and several hundred overseas Filipinos in Croatia, Slovakia, and Slovenia.  END
