PH Embassy in Cairo Concludes Consular Mission in Djibouti, Ethiopia

CAIRO 30 September 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in Cairo successfully concluded its Consular Outreach in Djibouti City, Djibouti from 20 to 23 September 2020 and in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 24 to 26 September 2020.
The mission in Djibouti was led by Philippine Ambassador to Egypt Sulpicio M. Confiado. He was accompanied by Madame Priscila R. Confiado, and assisted by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Bojer B. Capati, Passport Processor and Voter Registration Machine Operator Allan G. Oseo, Jr., and Cultural Officer Rammaila V. Tolentino. Ambassador Confiado oversaw the consular outreach on the sidelines while attending several calls and meetings with government officials and international organizations in Djibouti.
The Embassy team was assisted by officers and members of the Filipino in Djibouti Community (FDC), an organization that aims to foster camaraderie among the Filipinos in Djibouti.
In Djibouti, the mission processed a total of 45 consular services, majority of which are passport renewals. A total of 29 new overseas Filipino voters were registered, and 19 old registrants requested to reactivate and/or transfer voting precincts to Djibouti (Cairo PE).
After Djibouti, the consular mission proceeded to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The mission was led by Vice Consul Capati and Passport Processor and Voter Registration Machine Operator Oseo, and assisted by officers and members of the Filipino Community in Ethiopia (FCE).
In Ethiopia, the mission processed a total of 55 consular services. A total of 27 new overseas Filipino voters were registered and nine old registrants requested to reactivate and/or transfer voting precincts to Ethiopia (Cairo PE).
The Philippine Embassy in Cairo assures Filipinos in the countries within its jurisdiction the continuity of public service delivery, despite the disruption brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Embassy will adapt and adjust as it strives to minimize the negative impact of the pandemic on its clientele, its officers, and staff. END
