MILAN 06 October 2020 – The Philippine Consulate General in Milan launched the first two episodes of “Ang Sikreto ng Kusinang Pilipino sa Milan” (SKPM), a series of at least 10 video presentations featuring Filipino-owned restaurants in Milan and nearby cities.

This project is being produced by the Consulate General under its Sentro Rizal, with the approval of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). The SKPM series may be viewed in the Consulate General’s YouTube channel (Philippine Consulate General Milan, Italy) and is also linked in its Facebook page (The Philippine Consulate General in Milan).

For its first episode, which was uploaded on 30 September 2020, the Consulate General featured “MASU”, a restaurant that specializes in Filipino and Japanese fusion cuisine, and two of its signature sushi dishes – Manila roll and Jeepney roll.

For the second episode, launched on 03 October 2020, the Consulate General featured “FORTUNA”, located in Gorgonzola, in the periphery of Milan, and two of its signature dishes – Caldereta (goulash style) and Spaghetti allo Scoglio (variation of vongole).

Apart from featuring Filipino kulinarya, the series intends to record stories of overseas Filipinos, recipes of success and what it means to rise above challenges.

The project is one of at least five programs of the Consulate General, which will be completed by the end of this year, in commemoration of the 25th year of its establishment (03 April 1995). END
