PH Embassy in Tokyo Attends PH Expo 2020: Event for Friendship and Goodwill

TOKYO 13 October 2020 – Philippine Embassy in Tokyo officials attended the Philippine Expo which was held from 09 to 11 October 2020 at the Shinkoiwa Park, Katsushika, Tokyo. The Expo aims to improve the image of the Philippines in Japan and provide an opportunity to strengthen the economic ties between the two countries.
The Philippine booth showcased Philippine products, services, and culture, and provided information about the tourist destinations and current visa regulations in the country.
According to the Executive Committee of Philippine Expo Chairman Suzuki Nobuyuki there are 5,000 Filipinos in the wards of Katsushiku, Edogawa, and Adachi.
Dignitaries from the Japanese Government such as Minister of Reconstruction Hirasawa Katsuei, Katsushika City Mayor Aoki Katsunori, and Congressman Tanaka Kazuhiro also participated in the Expo.
A Nippon Pinoy Karaokekan Challenge took place for Philippine-Japan cultural exchange, wherein Japanese people sung in Filipino and Filipinos sung in Japanese. Competitors from all over the country participated in the competition. A beauty pageant was also part of the program where Mr. and Ms. Philippine Expo 2020 were chosen.
The Philippine Expo continues to be one of the most successful events in Japan that further enhances the relationship of both countries, and provides a place to openly communicate and show the beauty of the Philippines. END
