SINGAPORE 20 October 2020 — The Philippine Embassy in Singapore resumed its monthly Sunday consular services program on 18 October 2020, under the strict public health guidelines observed by the Philippine government and Singapore, to serve the consular service requirements of the Filipino community in Singapore.

A total of 364 service transactions, mostly related to renewal of passports, notarial services, verification of employment contracts and enrolment in the Overseas Workers Welfare Fund, were completed by a joint consular and labour team of the Philippine Embassy.

The Sunday consular services also completed the voter registration of 22 individuals and facilitated the updating of contributions of 23 members of PAG-IBIG and Social Security System.

The Philippine Embassy in Singapore suspended its monthly Sunday consular services at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic this year except in June when it opened its consular services for four consecutive Sundays. The one Sunday a month consular operations started in 2018 to address the need for consular services for those who preferred to come to the Embassy on a weekend. The Sunday operations are in addition to regular service operations on Mondays to Fridays.

Philippine Embassy officials led by Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Joseph del Mar Yap announced that more monthly Sunday consular services will be conducted in the coming months to serve the local Filipino community as the Singapore government further eases travel and work-related restrictions.

As a matter of public health policy, the Philippine Embassy continues to strictly abide by the safe distancing measures and other public health guidelines of both the Philippine government and Singapore for all types of its consular services. END
