PH Embassy in Cairo Inaugurates New Clubhouse of Philippine Students Association

CAIRO 21 October 2020 — Philippine Ambassador to Egypt Sulpicio M. Confiado served as Guest of Honor during the inauguration of the new clubhouse of the Philippine Students Association in Cairo (PHILSAC) on 16 October 2020.

Ambassador Confiado recognized the important role of the 700-strong PHILSAC in promoting closer relations between the Philippines and Egypt. PHILSAC  was formed in 1958,  and has served as a fulcrum for Filipino-Muslim students studying at the Al Azhar University.

Ambassador Confiado encouraged PHILSAC’s participation in various cultural diplomacy initiatives of the Embassy, especially in promoting the rich heritage and traditions of various regions and provinces of Mindanao.

PHILSAC President Mohammad G. Indalal thanked Ambassador Confiado and the Philippine Embassy for their continuing assistance and support to PHILSAC. END
