PH Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call on New Attorney General of Brunei

BRUNEI DARUSSALAM 22 October 2020 – Philippine Ambassador to Brunei Christopher B. Montero paid a courtesy call on the new Attorney General of Brunei Darussalam, Yang Berhormat Haji Ahmad bin Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setua Bakti Di-Raja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa, at the Attorney General’s Chambers in Bandar Seri Begawan on 19 October 2020.

During the call, Ambassador Montero highlighted the contributions of Filipinos to the development and progress of Brunei Darussalam, and the mandate of the Philippine Embassy to extend appropriate legal assistance to Filipino nationals in the Sultanate who fall in distress, including those who are facing criminal charges.

The two officials also exchanged views on how both the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam can enhance cooperation in the areas of crime prevention and in the dissemination of relevant information to raise awareness on the proper observance of local laws and regulations. END
