08 May 2014 - The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu met on May 6 with representatives of Hawaii State’s Department of Public Health to discuss a campaign to disseminate information to the Filipino community about the Affordable Healthcare Act.
The Public Health Department of Hawaii seeks to partner with the Consulate General in reaching out to the community to campaign for health insurance and preventive health care.
Nurses Ailene Barranco Shaw and Analyn Simon of the Lanakila Health Center, the largest public health center in Honolulu, discussed with Consulate personnel the options for newly-arrived immigrants and uninsured Filipinos to avail of health insurance coverage under MedQuest Hawaii and Health Connector Hawaii.
