PH Ambassador Meets with Germany’s SMEs Organization President

BERLIN 26 October 2020 – Philippine Ambassador to Germany Ma. Theresa Dizon-De Vega met with German Association for Small and Medium-sized Business (BVMW) President Mario Ohoven, and his key team members, including BVMW Chief Economist Dr. Hans-Jürgen Völz, Director of Political Affairs and Foreign Trade Mr. Andreas Jahn, and Head for international markets Ms Dorothea Mertes. Ambassador Dizon-De Vega was joined by Economic Officer Cathy Torres and Commercial Counselor Althea Antonio at the meeting on 26 October 2020.
Ambassador Dizon-De Vega and Mr. Ohoven discussed opportunities for more active engagement between the Philippine and German MSMEs sectors given Germany’s expertise in this sector and the Philippines being one of the fastest growing economies in Asia.
BVMW is the largest voluntary grouping of small and medium-size enterprises—or the so-called Mittelstand—in Germany. It has 900,000 members and 340 representative or liaison offices in Germany and other countries, which organize around 2,000 events per year. END
