AMMAN 28 October 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in Jordan, through the initiative of Philippine Ambassador to Jordan Akmad A. Sakkam, partnered with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to bring home 33 Filipinos from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on 27 October 2020.

The repatriates, composed of students, workers, and a few of their family members, arrived in Manila via Emirates Airlines today.

This is the first partnership of the Embassy with IOM-Jordan in support of the Philippine government’s commitment to bring home distressed Filipinos amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This endeavor is a landmark initiative of the Philippine Embassy in Amman in its continuing efforts to address the plight of our Overseas Filipino Workers. We remain steadfast in our duty to ensure the welfare of our fellow Filipinos in Jordan,” Ambassador Sakkam said. END
