PRAGUE 19 October 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in Prague donated one tree to the Plant for the Future – Alley of Understanding project of the Czech Environmental Partnership Foundation (Nadace Partnerstvi) under the auspices of Foreign Minister Tomáš Petříček on 17 October 2020.
Minister Petříček thanked the 60 embassies that supported the Alley of Understanding, a project which he said “symbolizes tolerance and understanding between nations.”
The Foundation’s Director for Strategic Development Miroslav Kundrata said that the Plant for the Future project is part of the long-term goal of planting 10 million trees in the Czech Republic. There were 68 trees planted in Hostivice in the recently held event.
Embassy officials and volunteers from the Filipino community were supposed to join the actual tree-planting but due to the pandemic the organizers decided to have a professional service company plant the trees.
Both Minister Petricek and Mr. Kundrata, who were at the event, invited the Embassies who donated trees for a spring picnic at the Alley of Understanding in Hostivice after the pandemic. END
