09 May 2014- Five students from Classe A school, accompanied by their teacher, Ms. Maria Teresa P. de Sousa, represented the Philippines at a fair featuring about 50 countries at the Mackenzie Institution in Brasilia, Brazil on May 2.  Schools from all over Brazil were invited to participate in the event.

The students, in their second and third year in high school, talked about economic and social issues of the Philippines, and related issues such as gender equality, disaster preparedness and response mechanisms, and response to pandemics.  The students, who hail from the state of Rondônia, promoted the Philippines to the faculty, students, and guests of the school, including diplomats from various Embassies.

The Philippine Embassy in Brasilia offered kutsinta to allow guests to sample a little bit of Filipino cuisine, and distributed tourism materials conveying the message "It’s More Fun in the Philippines!" to the people who attended the event.

The Embassy hosted a dinner for the students on May 4 where Filipino food, such as pansit, adobo and embutido, were served.  The students were grateful for the opportunity to meet Philippine Ambassador to Brazil Eva G. Betita and the Embassy personnel, and said that they tried to project at the fair the same hospitality and warmth showed to them during their visit at the Embassy.  END
