PH Consulate General in Toronto Extends Assistance to Additional OFWs During COVID-19 Pandemic

TORONTO 06 November 2020 – The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto, through the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) under the leadership of Labor Attaché Attorney Rachel Zozobrado-Nagayo, has extended assistance to more Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who were affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic under POLO-Toronto’s jurisdiction on 03 November 2020. As of to date, 694 OFWs received a one-time financial assistance of US$200.00 under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) - AKAP.
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) - Toronto under POLO distributed 56 food packs from the OWWA funds, while 20 food packs were distributed from the DOLE COVID-19 Supplemental Funds. END
