NAIROBI 11 November 2020 – Philippine Ambassador to Kenya Alex G. Chua received Archbishop Romeo Lazo of the Archdiocese of Jaro Iloilo on 05 November 2020.
Archbishop Lazo visited Kenya for the third time for the opening of a new parish in Turkana under the Archdiocese of Jaro, Iloilo. This will be the second parish being established by and in coordination with the Diocese of Lodwar, based in an area near the border of Kenya with Ethiopia and South Sudan.
Ambassador Chua wished Archbishop Lazo and his team success in their mission and lauded the Filipino values and spirit of generosity and sacrifice embodied by the missionaries, which motivated them to help the needy communities in Africa.
Members of the religious missions comprise a big number of Filipinos in Kenya. Aside from doing their religious missions, they also contribute substantially through their developmental projects benefiting communities in remote areas in Kenya. END
