SAN FRANCISCO 11 November 2020 -- The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco has linked-up with The Filipino Channel to reach more Filipino Americans through the "Tanong ni ConGen Bensurto" program. For its pilot episode launched on 16 October 2020, the program discussed the latest travel advisory, specifically on who can enter the Philippines amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The six-minute video snippets are available on The Filipino Channel on cable TV, TheTFCkapamilya YouTube Channel youtube.com/watch?v=gs8d2_8bwfY, on TFC’s Facebook: @TFCUSOfficial, and TFC’s official website: https://usa.mytfc.com.

“At this time of the pandemic, the “Tanong ni ConGen” program is our way of reaching out to our kababayans and we thank TFC for helping us reach more Filipinos in the U.S.,” said Philippine Consul General Henry S. Bensurto, Jr.

A brainchild of Consul General Bensurto, the "Tanong ni ConGen" program seeks to answer frequently asked questions of the community. It is also a platform for the Consulate to feature the other aspects of its work, including its Spark*Connect* Empower* Movement and SCE Partners, as well as its cultural diplomacy activities. The Consulate aims to reach out to younger generations and inspire them to take pride in their culture and heritage by featuring programs of the Consulate and the Community.

Resource persons from the Philippines, such as government officials and those from the private sector, and Filipino-American community leaders, are invited to talk about their activities and advocacies that could spark interest among the audience on a variety of relevant topics.

The “Tanong ni ConGen” program is shown through Facebook Premiere on the Consulate’s official Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/PHinSF/  every Wednesday at 10AM Pacific Time. END
