MANAMA 09 November 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in Manama successfully facilitated the repatriation to the Philippines of 64-year old Ms. Rosie Briones Tolentino on 07 November 2020. Ms. Tolentino has been confined at different hospitals in Bahrain for more than one year due to septic arthritis of the right knee which she suffered from an accident in 2019.

Ms. Tolentino had been working in Bahrain since 1987 as a tailor before she was hospitalized due to her injury. She is single and will be reunited with her sister in Kalibo, Aklan.

The Embassy had attempted to repatriate Ms. Tolentino earlier in the year but COVID-19 restrictions and complications in her rehabilitation delayed her repatriation. Bahraini doctor Dr. Abbas Hasan, the attending physician of Ms. Tolentino, accompanied her travel to the Philippines to serve as medical escort.
