PH Embassy in Cairo Strengthens Cooperation with Egyptian National Food Safety Authority (NFSA), Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding (CCCPA)

CAIRO 16 November 2020 – Philippine Ambassador to Egypt Sulpicio M. Confiado met with National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) Chairman Dr. Hussein Mansour and NFSA Executive Director Dr. Ehab Mourad on 09 November 2020 to discuss the Outbound Business Matching Mission organized in November 2019 and the virtual Plenary and Business-to-Business Matching Event with Philippine Exporters of Food Products, co-organized with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC)-Dubai in October and November 2020.
The Philippine Embassy endeavors to move forward the discussions with the NFSA on a proposed mutual recognition agreement as regards food safety, food product registration and certification. Both sides affirmed commitment to further the two-way exchange of food products between the Philippines and Egypt.

Ambassador Confiado also met with Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding (CCCPA) Director General Ambassador Ahmed Abdellatif.
Both sides conveyed interest in establishing partnership and cooperation in addressing issues such as conflict Prevention, peacemaking and peacebuilding, and transnational threats, particularly protection of migrants, as well as in organizing training programs for Filipino community and religious leaders in countering religious extremism, as well establishing linkages between CCCPA and Philippine research centers.
