NAIROBI 16 November 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in Nairobi, represented by Consul Maria Rosanna O. Josue, met with Reverend Teodore Kalaw, Superior General of the Clerics Regular Minor (CRM) also known as the Adorno Fathers based in Rome at the Philippine Embassy in Nairobi on 12 November 2020.

Consul Josue was informed by Rev. Father Kalaw that the Adorno Fathers have two Filipino Brothers learning Swahili, in preparation for the establishment of a parish in Kenya and with the aim to have more presence in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Rev. Father Kalaw was accompanied by Filipino Brothers—Br. Eugene M. Habitan and Bro. Jordan Valencia, and Democratic Republic of Congolese Priests—Aimabie Mutsiirwa Mdamwira and Fr. Laurianus Tuyisabe Banyuzukwabo.

The meeting underscores the Embassy’s commitment to support the religious missions and missionaries, who amplify Filipino values and spirit of generosity and sacrifice.

Members of the religious missions comprise a big number of Filipinos in East Africa. Their developmental projects benefit communities in remote areas in East Africa, aside from doing their religious missions. END
