Japan Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Reaffirms its Support to the PH in the Field of ICT

TOKYO 20 November 2020 – The Japan Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) Vice-Minister for International Affairs Mabito Yoshida called on Philippine Ambassador to Japan Jose C. Laurel V to discuss cooperation between the Philippines and Japan in the information communications technology (ICT) field on 17 November 2020.

The MIC has continuously supported Philippine endeavors on infrastructure, specifically on telecommunication and information. The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has signed two agreements with MIC in the Field of ICT in 2014 and 2017, respectively.

Vice-Minister Yoshida stated that he hopes to create a good infrastructure environment of ICT together with the Philippines, and further expand this cooperation on a global scale. END
