12 May 2014 - In line with its Gender and Development Work Plan for the year 2014, the Philippine Embassy in Tripoli, Libya, held A Forum on the Magna Carta of Women and Violence Against Women on April 30. Various organizations sent their representatives, majority of whom are women, to participate in the event.

 

 

The Forum started with the introduction of Republic Act No. 9710, also known as the Magna Carta of Women, and Violence Against Women. It was followed by a sharing of experiences, especially by female overseas Filipino workers, on how women are being treated in Libyan society and some tips on how to enhance their safety and security.
