PH Embassy in Tripoli Facilitates Repatriation of 19 Distressed Filipinos

PHOTO: Officials from the Philippine Embassy in Tripoli brief 19 distressed Filipinos who have requested assistance in returning to the Philippines. The repatriates were tested by doctors from the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on 30 November 2020 to rule out any coronavirus infection prior to their departure for Manila on 02 December 2020. The repatriation is being undertaken by the Embassy and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Tripoli with support from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). PHOTO: Nineteen Filipinos were repatriated from Libya on 02 December 2020, bringing to 179 the total number of Filipinos the Philippine Embassy in Tripoli has assisted in returning to the Philippines since the start of the year. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Elmer G. Cato and Labor Attachè Adam Musa sent off the latest batch of repatriates from Tripoli and surrounding areas. The repatriation was undertaken with the support of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). The repatriates are scheduled to arrive in Manila from Muscat on Thursday.
