06 May 2014 – The Philippine Consulate General in Macau SAR resumed registration for overseas voters on May 6.

The first registrant was a domestic worker whose current contract will remain valid beyond the voting period in 2016. She expressed her excitement at being able to register at the Consulate General with such ease. 

The Consulate General announced the resumption of registration for qualified Filipinos through notices in its consular area, website, Facebook page, as well as during Filipino community activities. The Consulate General also plans to intensify the information campaign and expects an increase in voters registration in the coming weeks. END
