PH Consulate General in Calgary Explains Consular Services to Filipino TFWs
CALGARY 21 December 2020 – Following the partnership they forged on 30 October 2020, the Philippine Consulate General in Calgary and the Calgary Catholic Immigrant Society (CCIS) jointly held a webinar about the Consulate’s consular services.
During the webinar on 14 December 2020, Philippine Consul General to Calgary Zaldy Patron explained in details to the Filipino temporary foreign worker (TFW) clients of CCIS, the biggest non-profit organization in Southern Alberta, the various consular services of the Consulate.
One of the CCIS’ programs is the Community Support Services (CSS), previously known as the TFW Program, which counts the Filipino TFWs as among its major beneficiaries.
Consul General Patron discussed the features of the Consulate’s new passport online appointment system, which the Consulate began using for passport bookings from 23 November 2020 onward. He also explained the Consulate’s other consular services, such as the retention and re-acquisition of Philippine citizenship, civil registration, notarials and legalization of documents, and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) verification.
