PH Embassy in Phnom Penh’s Online Intermediate Khmer Language Classes for Filipinos in Cambodia attracts more than 100 students

PHNOM PENH 28 December 2020 – Despite the pandemic, the Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh’s free Intermediate Khmer Language Classes recorded a total of 116 Filipinos registering for the course, which started on 03 November 2020 and held every Tuesday and Thursday evenings through Zoom.
The 20-hour language training program, funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs - Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs (DFA-OUMWA), was organized to help Filipinos in Cambodia enhance their oral and listening skills in the Khmer language in order to better adapt to their workplace and environment.
The lectures, taught by Khmer language teacher for foreigners and author of the book "Cambodian Vocabulary for Foreigners" Mr. Hok Dara, covered intermediate grammar, sentence structures and formulation, new vocabulary, among others.
Of the registered participants, 45 Filipinos successfully completed the Intermediate Khmer Language classes and will receive Certificates of Completion. END
