New PH Ambassador Presents Credentials to New Kuwaiti Amir

KUWAIT 29 December 2020 – Three months since his nomination by Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait Mohd. Noordin Pendosina N. Lomondot presented his Letters of Credence to the new Kuwaiti Amir, His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, at the Bayan Palace on 22 December 2020.

Ambassador Lomondot was accompanied during the entire presentation ceremony by Madam Jarifah T. Lomondot, and Third Secretary and Vice Consul Adrian Audrey L. Baccay.

During a brief exchange after his presentation of credentials, Ambassador Lomondot conveyed to Sheikh Nawaf the greetings and best wishes of President Duterte to the government and people of Kuwait. In return, the Amir expressed his support to the new Philippine Ambassador for a successful mission in Kuwait. 

Among those who attended the presentation ceremony were Amiri Diwan (Amir’s Court) Affairs Minister Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah, Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Amiri Diwan Head Sheikh Mubarak Faisal Saud Al-Sabah, Deputy Amiri Diwan Affairs Minister Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Amiri Diwan Undersecretary Ahmad Fahad Al-Fahad, and Amiri Protocol Head Sheikh Khaled Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah Al-Nasser Al-Sabah.

This is the first presentation of credentials that Sheikh Nawaf hosted as Kuwaiti Amir, almost three months since he took his oath as the country’s new Head of State. 

The presentation of credentials to the Amir is the last part of the formal process by the Kuwaiti government in recognizing and accrediting Ambassador Lomondot as the Philippines’ new top envoy. The Ambassador previously presented his Letter of Credence to the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister.

Ambassador Lomondot served as the Chargé d'Affaires, ad interim and Consul General of the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait until his retirement on 05 September 2020. A career officer of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), his previous foreign assignments include Libya, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Malaysia, Lebanon, and Bangladesh. END
