PH Embassy in Manama Personnel Get COVID-19 Vaccination

Manama

MANAMA 06 January 2021 — The officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain and its attached agencies, led by Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver show their official Certificate of Vaccination after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine provided by the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain for all its citizens and residents.

From left are POLO-Bahrain Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Ms. Lorna Bacolong, Second Secretary and Consul Bryan Jess Baguio (who received the vaccine together with his wife, Mrs. Leanie Baguio), Pag-IBIG Representative Ms. Pamela Alistair Alfonso, Ambassador Ver, OWWA-Bahrain Administrative Staff Ms. Aprille Bisquera, SSS Representative Mr. Jose Custodio, POLO-Bahrain Labor and Employment Officer Ms. Arlene Tanay, and OWWA Bahrain Local Staff Mr. Arnel Estrella.

Following months of comprehensive vaccine trials, the Government of Bahrain rolled-out its vaccination program last December 2020 and committed to provide the vaccine to all. Frontliners and key medical personnel were given the vaccine immediately followed by a program for all citizens and residents. Availment of the vaccine is through an online registration portal under the Ministry of Health to ensure a safe, organized and fair program. At present, Bahrain offers a choice of vaccines, either Sinopharm or Pfizer-BioNTech, and sees that a vast majority of its population will be inoculated by March 2021.

Other Philippine Embassy in Manama personnel have registered and lined-up to await their call for their shots. Each person shall be given two doses, with the second after 21 days of the first shot. Ambassador Ver had earlier expressed the appreciation of the community to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and all the people of Bahrain for their foresight, compassion and generosity in providing vaccines for all, free of charge. Together with Manama PE personnel, Ambassador Ver encourages the Filipino community to get vaccinated. END
