Vientiane- overseas voters registration1

13 May 2014- The Philippine Embassy in Vientiane commenced on May 6  the overseas voters registration and certificationfor the 2016 Philippine presidential elections.

Among the first registrants was Mr. Edson Vedina, a welder at the Hydro Electric Power project of Whessoe Company in Xayaburi, Laos, who came to the Embassy together with seven other colleagues to renew their passports.

The Embassy informed them that the voters registration had started and encouraged them to register. Four of them were processd for registration while the rest had requested for transfer of registration records.

 A total of nine applications for registration and requests for transfer of registration records were processed on the first day.

The Embassy encourages all qualified Filipinos to register for the 2016 national elections. Mobile registration is scheduled to reach Filipinos working at the mining and Hydro Electric Power project and dam sites in the different provinces of Laos. END
