Malasakit on full display, as PH Embassy in Nairobi Show Support for Children’s Shelter

NAIROBI 09 February 2021 – The Philippine Embassy in Nairobi showed its support for a children’s shelter called the Formation House, run by the Poor Servants of Divine Providence by donating hygiene kits, face masks against COVID-19, as well as financial assistance on 03 February 2021 at the Philippine Embassy at 001 Mzima Springs Road, Lavington, Nairobi, Kenya.

The Formation House shelters abandoned and at-risk children from vulnerable socio-economic backgrounds. They also provide basic education to the those of school age and conduct livelihood and vocational training to prepare the youth for their future outside of the Formation House.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Poor Servants of Divine Providence was Filipino missionary priest Fr. Deem Virtudazo, who expressed appreciation for the donation and said, “This donation will greatly benefit the children we are helping in the Formation House.”  

Fr. Virtudazo hails from the Compostela Valley. He has been with the Poor Servants of Divine Providence since 2012. 

The Poor Servants of Divine Providence is a catholic religious congregation, composed of Brothers and Priests and missionaries of Poor Sisters, founded by St. John Calabria on 1907 in Verona, Italy. END
