DAMASCUS 19 February 2021 – The Philippine Embassy in Damascus conducted the first-ever virtual dialogue entitled, “Sandigan sa Syria: Virtual Dialogue Series” led by Philippine Embassy in Damascus Chargé d’Affaires (CDA) Vida Soraya S. Verzosa, together with the wards of the Filipino Workers Resource Center (FWRC), the wards’ Next-of-Kin (NOK) in the Philippines, and the Compass PH via Google Meet last month at the Embassy Chancery.

Compass PH presented its services and discussed other livelihood programs and benefits that they can avail after their repatriation. Other services may also be availed through the use of the mobile application (Compass Lingkod OFW), available at www.compass.ph.

Compass PH is a simplified and unified platform to safeguard the migrant workers and their families.  It is intended to assist them through non-banking financial services, messaging and communication services, information services, training programs and other services.

After the presentation, the wards were able to communicate with their NOKs through this pioneering virtual platform. CDA Verzosa also provided updates with regard to their cases. Every month, the Embassy conducts virtual dialogues with Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), civic groups, and other institutions that would cater to the needs of the wards and their families, in preparation for their repatriation.
