Filipinos in Bahrain urged to get vaccinated through free COVID-19 vaccines from the Bahraini government

MANAMA 26 February 2021– The Philippine Embassy in Manama, Bahrain organized and held an online forum entitled “Usapang Bakuna Laban sa Pandemya”, a forum on vaccines against COVID-19 on 25 February 2021. The objective of the webinar was to share information and develop awareness on the different vaccines, and to encourage the Filipino community to have themselves inoculated by the vaccine provided by the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Given their expertise and knowledge, the Embassy invited two Bahrain-based Filipino doctors as resource speakers, Doctors Ansari I. Macapundag, emergency room (ER) Physician of Bahrain Specialist Hospital and Kenneth Joseph G. Virador, from the Gastroenterology/Internal Medicine Department of the American Mission Hospital.
The Embassy also invited guest speakers from the Filipino Community who have already completed their two doses of vaccines, three of them household service workers, a senior citizen who has been working with the Bahrain government for 14 years, and a nurse who is also assigned in administrating the vaccine.
Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver reiterated the announcement of the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Bahrain for everyone to register and avail of the free COVID-19 vaccine. The Ambassador also echoed the advice of the speakers and highly encouraged members of the Filipino Community to avail of the vaccine as both resource speakers, noted that reported side effects are common even with other vaccines.
