CANBERRA 26 March 2021 – Philippine Ambassador to Australia Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega met the Hon. Dan Tehan at the Parliament House on 25 March 2021. Minister Tehan is the Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment responsible for advancing Australia’s trade and investment relations with regional and global partners.

Ambassador De La Vega and Trade Minister Tehan both underscored the importance of enhancing business links of the Philippines and Australia and create opportunities to pursue economic recovery. “Australia is a traditional trading partner of the Philippines and Australian businesses in the Philippines have been very successful,” said the Ambassador. The Ambassador invited the Minister to visit the Philippines when conditions allow.

Minister Tehan noted the 75 years of friendship of the Philippines and Australia and said, “We should explore meaningful ways to deepen the partnership.” END
