15 May 2014 – Philippine Ambassador to Italy Virgilio A. Reyes, Jr. accompanied by his wife Mrs. Marie L. Reyes and Honorary Consul Antonino di Liberto undertook visits in Palermo, Cefalu, Agrigento and Monreale, all located in the island of Sicily from April 17 to 20 to further enhance relations between the Philippines and Italy.

Ambassador Reyes and delegation visited the Palazzo dei Normanni in Palermo, seat of the Sicilian Parliament, and thereafter was welcomed at the Palermo City Hall by Prof. Giusto Catania, Palermo’s assessor for immigrants. The Ambassador and delegation thereafter met with His Eminence Paolo Cardinal Romeo at the Archbishop’s Palace of Palermo.


The following day, the Ambassador and delegation also undertook a cultural visit to the city of Cefalu and proceeded to Agrigento to meet with its Archbishop, Francesco Montenegro.


During the Ambassador’s visit, Honorary Consul di Liberto also held a consultation meeting with the Ambassador and members of the Filipino community at the premises of the Honorary Consulate of the Philippines in Palermo. END
