15 May 2014 – The Philippine Embassy in Rome, represented by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Kristine Margret Malang,  attended as guest of honor at the Pinoy Fiesta sa South Italy 2014 in Palermo, Sicily on April 6.

The fiesta celebration, organized by the Filipino Association of Talents in Europe, featured a three-part program— namely Search for Star Kids, Pinoy Talents Pasikatan, and Search for Baby Models— to highlight Filipino culture and the talents of the Filipino youth in Palermo.

Vice Consul Malang, in her remarks, called on second-generation Filipinos in Italy to continue to be proud of their heritage through endeavors that highlight Filipino culture, values, and history.

Philippine Honorary Consul to Palermo, Dott. Antonino di Liberto, was likewise present in the the event.

The Philippine Embassy looks forward to closer cooperation with the youth for them to effectively integrate, excel in their studies, and take active roles in socio-civic life here and back home. END
